
Amira Hanslod
Amira is a third-year political science and public administration student at the University of Ottawa. Currently, she is a parliamentary assistant for the MP for Malton-Mississauga in the Summer Leadership Program. Amira recently completed an internship with the Senate of Canada in the office of Senator Mobina Jaffer, where she was responsible for diversity inclusion efforts and regularly reviewed issues pertaining to hate crimes against racialized and religious minority communities. Amira is passionate about using her experience in politics to uplift the Muslim-Canadian community, particularly Muslim women, and advocates for a higher representation of Muslim women in politics.
