Nathanial Peart’s Priority Issues

If elected, my priorities are affordability, public safety, responsible spending and making sure Brampton residents see real value for their tax dollars.

I want to attract major employers to Brampton so more residents have the opportunity to work closer to home instead of spending hours commuting outside the city. At the same time, we need to support our local and family owned businesses.

Public safety is a priority.

I want stronger co-ordination with Peel Regional Police and community services, while expanding youth supports and access to mental health resources.

I will fight unnecessary property tax increases while reviewing city spending and improving transparency and accountability at city hall.

I want stronger investment in our youth, sports and the arts, giving Brampton residents more opportunities to succeed right here at home.

Focus on the everyday services residents depend on:

cleaner streets, better snow removal that does not leave driveways unnecessarily blocked and infrastructure that keeps pace with Brampton’s growth.

Nathanial’s Answers: Muslims & Islamophobia

How will you strengthen relationships and trust between police services and Muslim communities?

How will you work with mosques, Islamic schools, and Muslim organizations to improve community safety and emergency preparedness?

What steps will you take to address Islamophobia and anti-Muslim discrimination?

How will you ensure Muslim residents and community organizations have a meaningful voice in municipal decision-making?

How will you support Muslim organizations that provide community services, settlement support, youth programming, food assistance, and other essential services?

How can the city provide a more nuanced approach to zoning for religious institutions (such as mosques) given their practices, cultures and needs differ?

What do you think is the greatest problem the ward is facing, and how do you plan to address it?

How will you ensure that anti-racism and EDI policies explicitly recognize and address anti-Palestinian racism where it occurs?

How will you ensure that your city’s commitments to freedom of expression, anti-racism, religious freedom, and equal treatment are applied consistently across all communities, including when issues are politically contentious?

Are there any other priorities or topic you would like to add?
