Prabh Gill’s Priority Issues

Responsible taxes.

City staff told council in January that roughly $1.5 billion collected for approved projects remains unspent. I will review spending line by line, eliminate waste and grow the commercial and industrial tax base, so homeowners carry less of the load.

Jobs and business.

I will support small businesses, attract investment and bring good jobs home, so fewer residents have to leave Brampton to earn a living.

Getting Brampton moving.

I will push for better roads, Highway 410 solutions, reliable transit and the second hospital, so infrastructure keeps pace with growth.

A city hall that works.

One problem, one owner. Residents will know who is responsible for their concern, what is being done and when to expect results. Within 100 days, I will report progress publicly.

Safer neighbourhoods.

Peel’s police budget has grown more than 80 per cent since 2021, yet a smaller share of violent crimes is being solved. I will work with police, community organizations and other governments, and insist on measurable results.

What steps will you take to address Islamophobia and anti-Muslim discrimination?

How will you ensure Muslim residents and community organizations have a meaningful voice in municipal decision-making?

How will you support Muslim organizations that provide community services, settlement support, youth programming, food assistance, and other essential services?

How can the city provide a more nuanced approach to zoning for religious institutions (such as mosques) given their practices, cultures and needs differ?

What do you think is the greatest problem the ward is facing, and how do you plan to address it?

How will you ensure that anti-racism and EDI policies explicitly recognize and address anti-Palestinian racism where it occurs?

How will you ensure that your city’s commitments to freedom of expression, anti-racism, religious freedom, and equal treatment are applied consistently across all communities, including when issues are politically contentious?

Are there any other priorities or topic you would like to add?
