I would utilize strict budget actions, intergovernmental funding and operational goals to balance competing demands for infrastructure, specific needs and tax affordability. I will establish a department for the direct purpose of investigating and cutting departmental spending where the budget does not serve our city or citizens in a productive way. This initiative would also include identifying internal savings and find operational efficiencies before cuts to frontline services. I would consistently and aggressively lobby to all levels of government to extract all sources of funding imaginable for our city. Prioritizing city-wide versus specific needs will require triaging wide risk and asset management plans. In addition to integrating council amendments and ward concerns with public delegations through the balancing of broad tax consultations and conclusions. Also streamlining the process to maintaining final tax impacts with fiscal limits.
