Program Coordinator (CSJ)

The Canadian-Muslim Vote aims to mobilize Canadian Muslims to participate in Canadian politics by helping them make informed choices during and between election periods.


Department:

The Community Engagement department at TCMV focuses on fostering meaningful connections with community members and stakeholders. It promotes TCMV and its work by interacting with individuals at mosques, community events and through other outreach initiatives to create lasting impressions. It researches and identifies our audience and targets outreach efforts to reach the right people with the right message. It acts as a liaison between TCMV and a designated region/electoral district to implement strategies to meet TCMV’s objectives by raising awareness through interpersonal interactions.


Job Description:

This role is responsible for supporting the Program Manager in the planning and execution of TCMV’s various upcoming projects geared at promoting civic education and engagement. This role will provide support in developing the program material, managing resource availability and allocation, identifying key campaign milestones, tracking KPIs and creating progress reports. The Project Coordinator will also foster partnerships with stakeholders and harness strong connections with community members.

This role works to continuously elevate the standard of The Canadian Muslim Vote’s political literacy and community engagement efforts by maximizing its presence throughout the community.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Program Manager to develop plans and execute projects
  • Assist with volunteer recruitment to maximize TCMV’s presence within the community through various outreach efforts
  • Organize TCMV’s attendance at local events (galas, dinners, festivals etc.) and promote partnerships with event organizers
  • Cultivate meaningful relationships with external stakeholders (organizations/institutions) to maximize outreach
  • Secure fundraising/grant opportunities, write grant applications, and implement fundraising strategies to collect funds for TCMV and to foster lasting donor relations
  • Track metrics of outreach campaigns, monitor KPIs, create progress reports, formulate budget and manage resource allocation
  • Travel to various locations within the designated riding/electoral district to attend events


Ad-hoc duties and responsibilities:

  • All team members will be required to help in various capacities outside their regular roles, depending on the nature of upcoming events/project launches


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum high school education is required; relevant post-secondary education is an asset
  • Must remain strictly non-partisan while representing TCMV
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Energetic with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands
  • Ability to manage projects with many moving parts and multiple team members
  • Motivated self-starter who is able to take both guidance and initiative
  • Works well in a team with a collaborative lens
  • Must have flexible working hours including evenings and weekends
  • Bilingualism (preferably English and French) is an asset
  • Interest and knowledge of politics/Canada’s democratic system is an asset

The Fundraising and Outreach Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting the Program Manager in planning and executing TCMV’s upcoming projects aimed at promoting civic education and engagement. This role involves creating compelling grant proposals and fundraising campaigns to secure financial support for TCMV’s initiatives.

The Coordinator will be responsible for cultivating lasting relationships with potential donors and community partners, and work towards leveraging such goals when fundraising, while ensuring alignment with TCMV’s mission and goals. This role is also responsible for seeking grant opportunities and submitting proposals.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Executive Director to develop project budgets for each initiative
  • Collaborate closely with the Program Manager to develop comprehensive plans for project execution
  • Craft persuasive grant proposals and fundraising campaigns to secure financial support for TCMV’s initiatives
  • Build and maintain relationships with potential donors, community organizations, and institutions to maximize outreach and fundraising efforts

Job Description:

The Database and Content Coordinator at The Canadian-Muslim Vote (TCMV) is a cornerstone in the organization’s mission, overseeing the efficient management and optimization of both the internal organization and donor databases. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the smooth operation of TCMV’s data infrastructure and collaborates closely with the other departments to develop strategies that maintain data accuracy, efficiency, and security, ultimately enhancing the organization’s capacity for targeted outreach, streamlined grant applications, and effective donor relationship management.

Beyond the digital realm, the coordinator actively coordinates TCMV’s presence at local events, utilizing the CRM system for event-related data management, attendance tracking, and assessing the effectiveness of outreach efforts. In essence, the Database Administrator embodies TCMV’s commitment to utilizing technology and data for impactful community engagement, contributing significantly to the organization’s mission of fostering an informed and engaged Canadian Muslim community within the democratic process.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and maintain the organization’s internal database systems, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and security in collaboration with the Executive Director
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize the usage of our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, leveraging its capabilities to enhance organizational processes
  • Regularly update and maintain the donor database, ensuring data integrity and compliance with privacy regulations
  • Utilize the CRM system to manage donor profiles, track contributions, and streamline communication history
  • Collaborate closely with the Program Manager and Executive Director to comprehend project budgets and fundraising goals
  • Utilize the CRM system for generating reports and insights supporting persuasive grant proposals and fundraising campaigns
  • Assist in identifying potential donors, managing donor profiles, and tracking contributions
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with potential donors, community organizations, and institutions

The Education Department at The Canadian-Muslim Vote (TCMV) is committed to increasing political literacy and civic awareness within the Muslim community. This team is responsible for developing accessible, research-based, and engaging content that explains how Canadian politics affects our everyday lives. Central to the department’s work is the development and curation of TCMV’s online Library — a digital resource hub offering explainers, research pieces, and educational tools that simplify complex political topics in a non-partisan way.

The department also leads two key series: “What If…”, which explores the potential impact of hypothetical policy decisions on Canadian Muslims, and “Let’s Debunk”, which addresses common myths and misconceptions related to civic engagement, government, and public policy. Team members support research, content development, editing, and publishing, and ensure that all resources are both accurate and impactful. Through this work, the Education Department plays a vital role in ensuring that our community is better informed, more confident, and empowered to participate meaningfully in Canada’s democratic process.


Job Description:

This role is responsible for supporting the Educational Team Lead in the planning and execution of TCMV’s various upcoming projects geared at promoting civic education and engagement. This role will be responsible for creating educational content to be distributed in various forms such as social media posts, programs/lesson plans, case studies, presentations and more, for various age groups. The Educational Coordinator will keep up to date with current political events such as upcoming elections and be prepared to break down such information into digestible material to share within the community. This role will also be familiar with Canada’s democratic system, to create educational material used to promote political literacy.

This role works to continuously elevate the standard of The Canadian-Muslim Vote’s political literacy and community engagement efforts by developing engaging and educational content.

Job Description:

The Marketing Coordinator is a key contributor to TCMV’s success, responsible for shaping and executing the organization’s social media strategy over key platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

Through strategic planning and execution, they ensure that the organization’s messaging is effectively communicated to its target audience. This involves developing creative and engaging social media campaigns that align with TCMV’s overarching objectives. Furthermore, the Social Media Manager monitors and analyzes key performance indicators using various tools to assess the impact of social media efforts. By evaluating metrics such as engagement, reach, and conversion, they refine strategies to maximize effectiveness and adapt to evolving trends.

Other relevant duties include working closely with the Marketing team to understand the overall goal and direction of TCMV’s marketing efforts.  An emphasis will also be placed on reaching out to the target market in the key identified ridings/electoral districts. This role will help the team in developing and executing online fundraising strategies. This role also collaborates with other departments to ensure TCMV has a dynamic supporter relations strategy and is engaging our target audience in creative ways.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with TCMV’s goals to engage and educate voters and donors
  • Curates compelling content for various social media platforms, ensuring alignment with TCMV’s mission and values
  • Analyzes performance metrics using social media analytics tools to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and identifies areas for improvement
  • Collaborates with the Marketing team to align social media efforts with overall marketing objectives and messaging
  • Engages with the online community, responding to comments, messages, and fostering a positive online presence for TCMV
  • Implements targeted social media advertising campaigns to reach specific demographics and geographic regions
  • Stays informed about industry trends, emerging platforms, and best practices to keep TCMV’s social media presence innovative and relevant

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education and relevant experience
  • Technological skills and proficiency in MS Suite, Google Suite etc.
  • Knowledge of social media tools such as Sprout Social etc.
  • Detail-oriented with an analytical approach to achieving objectives
  • Experience in social media management and fundraising
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
