Fellowship Expansion Across Canada

In 2024, The Canadian Muslim Vote’s Civic Leadership Fellowship solidified its role as a cornerstone of our national impact, expanding into Ottawa and Vancouver while continuing its successful run in Toronto. This transformative program brought together bright, young Muslim professionals and equipped them with the tools, training, and mentorship needed to become influential leaders in civic life. From in-depth policy workshops to immersive simulations, fellows engaged directly with the democratic process, building the confidence and skills necessary to pursue roles in advocacy, government, and public service.

A defining highlight of the Fellowship was the caliber of speakers and mentors who joined us—figures like MP Sarah Jama, CBC political commentator Vandana Kattar, and former candidate Adam Ibrahim shared hard-earned wisdom and real-world insights. These sessions were more than educational—they were inspiring. They created opportunities for direct networking, mentorship, and learning that few young professionals ever experience. Fellows left the program with sharpened political literacy, a deepened understanding of systems and strategies, and a strong support network of peers and community leaders.

But perhaps the most lasting impact of the Fellowship lies in what comes next. Our alumni are already making waves: launching local initiatives, volunteering on political campaigns, advising community organizations, and pursuing careers in public policy and government. By giving these young leaders the right tools—and the right platform—TCMV is building a future where Muslim voices are not only heard, but are helping to shape the direction of our country. This is more than a program—it’s a pipeline to lasting change.
