Solidarity Beyond Borders: TCMV in Palestine

Delegation to Palestine & Jordan

In January 2024, The Canadian Muslim Vote (TCMV) took part in a transformative delegation to Jordan and Palestine—marking a milestone in our organization's growing international outreach. Alongside representatives from NCCM, Islamic Relief, IDRF, and the Palestinian Coalition, and joined by Members of Parliament from multiple parties, TCMV bore witness to the lived realities of Palestinian communities. From visiting refugee camps in Jordan to walking the streets of Hebron, Jenin, Ramallah, and Bethlehem, the delegation encountered the harsh systemic inequalities, ongoing displacement, and human resilience that define life under occupation. These firsthand experiences deepened our understanding of global justice and reinforced the power of civic engagement on both a local and international level.

This landmark trip wasn’t just about observation—it was about connection, education, and responsibility. Participants engaged directly with local partners, advocacy groups, and everyday citizens whose stories brought urgency to issues often overlooked. The emotional toll was profound, but so was the inspiration. For many, the journey became a call to action—to raise awareness, challenge injustice, and amplify voices from the ground. TCMV proudly stood alongside other national organizations to emphasize the importance of solidarity across borders and to spark meaningful dialogue here at home.

By expanding our reach beyond Canada, TCMV continues to demonstrate that civic engagement doesn’t stop at the ballot box or the border. This experience underscored our commitment to justice, equity, and representation—values that guide everything we do. As we reflect on this powerful moment, we invite donors, fellows, and supporters to help us continue building bridges, educating communities, and advocating for a more just world. With your support, TCMV will keep pushing boundaries—locally and globally.
